The US Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC) Mercy Class Hospital Ship (AH) USNS MERCY is guided by a tugboat (right) as it enters Apra Harbor, Guam, during its five-month deployment in the Pacific Region. The ship will participate in humanitarian assistance and civic action programs with civilian organizations at several Western Pacific islands. The MERCY is capable of supporting medical and humanitarian assistance needs. It is configured with special medical equipment and the ship has multi-specialized medical teams that can provide a range of services ashore as well as aboard the vessel
