Earthquake ^ Flooding ^ Tsunami - Nua Seetaga, American Samoa, October 31, 2009 -- High Chief Faisiota Tauanuu, the village leader, listened to the meeting from the rear of the guest house and rose periodically to speak to FEMA and American Samoa government officials at the table at the front. Tauanuu, who spoke mostly in Samoan, said, "We are ready to help". He said the members of his village would shovel up the tsunami debris and do whatever else is needed to get their village clean so they can begin to rebuild. Tauanuu thanked FCO Kenneth R. Tingman for his presence at the meeting, saying that he had been waiting to meet the top man from FEMA. Richard O'Reilly/FEMANational Archives at College Park - Still PicturesImage
