Max Slepin. Publicity shot of Max Slepin and the Red Cross. (Photo Caption): Doing his share...Max Slepin, a wounded veteran himself, is shown checking the spot where his blood donation will be placed in the refrigerator at the Red Cross Blood Center as 253 N. Broad Street. Slepin, who was wounded on the Marshall Islands and on Saipan during World War II, says his life was saved with blood plasma collected by the Red Cross. Currently campaigning for Congress from the 2nd District, Slepin appealed to all servicemen to support the blood program. The Red Cross has been asked to supply blood for U.S. fighting men in Korea. The first shipment left here last week. Holding the blood is Nurse Mrs. Doris Macomber.Temple UniversityImage
