US Marine Corps (USMC) Marines, Marine Aircraft Group 24 (MAG-24), Marine Corps Base (MCB) Hawaii, Hawaii (HI), stand at parade rest prior to a twenty-one gun salute on the USS VESTAL (AR 4) mooring quay. The VESTAL, a repair ship, was moored outboard of the battleship USS ARIZONA (BB 39) at quay F-7 during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Hit by two bombs and further damaged when ARIZONA's forward magazines exploded, she was repaired and transferred to the South Pacific in August 1942.
