U.S. Navy Adm. Robert F. Willard (right) Vice CHIEF of Naval Operations (VCNO), presents Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Navy LT. ohn Finn with a newly created Medal of Honor Flag aboard the USS CONSTITUTION at Boston Harbor, Mass., on Sept. 30, 2006. As a U.S. Navy Aviation Ordnanceman, Finn was awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism in manning a .50-caliber machine gun and fending off the attacks of apanese warplanes at Kaneohe Bay Naval Air Station, Hawaii, on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941. The Medal of Honor is our country's highest military honor, awarded for acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty.
