Kurdish children excitedly look through toys upon their arrival at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, following an almost 17 hour flight from Turkey. The toys were provided for the children through donations by the Salvation Army Guam Corps, the American Red Cross, the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society, various religious charities and military and civilian private donors. Operation PACIFIC HAVEN represents a series of airlifts designed to provide sanctuary for some 2,400 refugees fleeing Iraq.
