McIver and Corporal Kenny Carlyle, from HMH-463 Kaneohe Bay Hawaii, put a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter that was disassembled so it could be transported to Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, back together as part of Exercise KOA THUNDER 2001 at Anderson Air Force Base. Marines from Aviation Support Element, Kaneohe Bay Hawaii, 1ST Marine Air Wing, Okinawa, Japan, and 3rd Marines 7th Battalion 29 Palms, California, participated in KOA THUNDER on the island of Guam from July 9 to July 14.
