US Navy (USN) Lieutenant (LT) Pete Obenauer and USN Hospital Corpsman Second Class (HM2) Richard Cabatit, Naval Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit 6 (NEPMU-6) carry an entomology vector surveillance and control kit to an uploading point as they prepare for deployment to Indonesia. The entomology kits are used to trap mosquitoes, ticks and other disease carrying insects for examination and possible extermination if discovered to be carriers of malaria or dengue fever. NEPMU-6 is deploying to Indonesia to provide humanitarian support and conduct water quality testing, insect collection and examination for disease, and medical assistance as part of larger disaster relief efforts...National Archives at College Park - Still PicturesImage
