A medium-range separating target missile is seen seconds after lift-off from the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Barking Sands, Kauai, Hawaii (HI). Six minutes later, the target was intercepted by a developmental Standard Missile Three (SM-3) launched from the Pearl Harbor based Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruiser USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) [not shown].
