- The Lae District Court held a special sitting over the weekend for more than 60 people who were arrested and charged for loitering last week. The verdicts by the magistrates were court fines of K300 and K500, and repatriation to their home provinces. The mass arrest of these people comes after a mini operation by Lae police to clear the main bus stop areas in Lae, following complaints of an increase in petty crimes by Lae public.
