- It has been five years since the PNGDF’s Joint Forces Academy was re-established, at the Igam Barracks in Lae. Last year, the National Executive Council passed the Joint Services Bill that would enable the academy to be recognized as a tertiary institution. While the academy is yet to receive funding from the National Government, they continue to train cadets with support from stakeholders. This week, the junior class underwent their first exercise at Dumpu in Madang.
