Coconut site: Planting of new coconut in Nick Evans' yard (in the direction of their village of Derideri) by Qanama as part of the equivalent of a tab zi to express a wish that a linguist come and document their language. Nambo language responses, interview questions in Nen. Interesting for its real depiction of the sorts of appeals and incantations that accompany the planting of a coconut. Concludes by asking his sister Prnda, resident in Bimadbn, to look after and water the coconut so that it will grow, and uses the metaphor of the coconut growing slowly and eventually bearing fruit to implant the idea of a long-term dictionary project. Despite Qanama's expressed concern for the purity of Nambo, he frequently mixes in Nama to his speech and the other men with him frequently prompt or correct him to a 'purer' usage.
