- HUNTING CROCODILES IN NORTH QUEENSLAND CROCODILES are so plentiful in the far north that Allied service- men are compelled to post guards in trees lining waterholes so that they can enjoy uninterrupted swims. Some of the men spend their spare time hunt- ing these pests in the swamps. Crocodile hunting has been an excit- ing sport in the north for many years.
