Description:
1943: U.S. soldiers finally take Kiska Island in August and begin to look for their dead. A search party finds the remains of Keller's plane nearly 3,000 feet high on the island's volcano. A team later buries the crewmen in a common grave, marked by a cross with a hand-carved inscription. "SEVEN U.S.N. AIRMEN," it reads.
