- This flute is part of a large collection of ethnographical material from the Bedamuni area of Papua New Guinea collected by A.G.van Beek and K. van Beek-Auer of Leiden University for the Horniman Museum. The flute is played only by young men, especially when they are returning from the gardens in the afternoon. It can be played either at the middle or the end. Furaboosu, transverse flute. A bamboo pipe without nodes and open at both ends. The pipe also tapers slightly towards one end. A deep hole is cut midway along the pipe, which reaches almost half way around the circumference.
