Description:

Cranium with mandible of Young adult/Mature adult Male (?). Decoration consists of traces of red pigment on right temporal and parietal, as well as small patches of short curly dark brown hair (some dyed red due to residual pigment) on right parietal, right occipital near temporal and left temporal above ear canal. Some teeth exhibit labial, buccal or lingual black staining. Skull relatively clean and uniform tan-yellow in color save for large patches of dark black staining with possible residual organic residue or tissue seen on right lateral frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital edge and left temporal/parietal border; the same areas in which hair and trace decoration is present. Dried tissue on right zygomatic (corresponding zygo arch lost postmortem w/weathering of exposed bone). Traces of lighter grey or white soil or organic residue present elsewhere on skull and lateral right mandible. Rootlets in left ear canal, small tan colored insect casings present in right ear canal, TMJ fossa, inferior sphenoid. No obvious trauma or osseous pathology. Teeth heavily worn and stained so LEH not assessable. No clear caries or periodontal disease. Maxilla:. Mandible: Many measurements missing due to missing teeth or molar wear
