Description:

Cranium with mandible of Young adult Male. No obvious decoration present that is distinguishable from taphonomic modifications. Reddish organge light staining on the frontal possibly and darker red staining on buccal mandible possibly residual decoration, but not clear. Skull is generally a uniform tan in color, with lighter (tannish-white) and darker (medium brown) in areas. Postmortem damage includes: small piece missing from superior right zygo arch, most of right mastoid process missing, damage to both anterior alveolii, breaking and weathering of the mandibular condyles and tips of ramii. Light residue of medium grey soil on frontal, occipital, palate, basicranium, mandible/mand alveolus, with more soil present in orbits, ear canals, and areas of basicranium. No roots to speak of. Mandibular posterior border polish. No obvious trauma. Osseous pathology might be present via what could be light periosteal remodeling and woven bone in a small area on the right parietal near occipital. All teeth in situ are molars. No calc to speak of (but soil present), LEH not assessable, alveolar margins in tact, minor periodontal pitting in rLM2 and M3 crypts, less so in the rUPM crypts. Maxilla: M2 and M3 have a C5, score 1 and 2 respectively. Mandible:
