- Cranium with mandible of Older adult Male. Decoration consists of a single frond or split reed loop tied around the left zygomatic arch. It is fragile but clean, possible added after much decomposition had occurred or replaced before the cranium was collected. Very little soil (in orbits and elsewhere), slight black organic staining (right temporal), very few roots, faint polishing on mandibular border, substantial amount of dried blackened tissue remains on basicranium. Mandible and maxilla slightly darker in color than the tannish-yellow vault. Possible 30mm diagonal shallow healed BFT on left frontal. Bilateral pitting on edge of mandibular fossa but not condyles. Possible age related pitting on occipital and parietals. Only rUM1 in situ, moderate calc and staining. All other crypts show postmortem damage, antemortem closing, and severe periodontal pitting and retreat. Possible abcesses in all visible molar crypts. Some measurements not possible due to reference points being obscured by dried tissue. Maxilla:. Mandible:
