- Description:
- Large wooden mask/Malagan cut from a piece, broken through ornaments. At the bottom, the mask itself with a large mouth, nose and eyes of green/brown snack (Turbo petholatus). The top of the head is made of plant fibers that have since been limed far too white. On top of this mask/helmet there are numerous carvings of which several are cut in relief, the typical feather-like thinly painted motifs often recur. At the top, a bird is cut out in full figure, he has eyes of the green/brown snail (Turbo petholatus). The figure is painted in red, black and white.
