- Description:
- Man-figure made in dark, slightly red-colored wood. Long bird’s beak nose and clear phallus. On the head a long pointed headdress that ends in a bud, the headdress is relief cut on the front. The sculpture does not seem to be made to stand up because the pedestal is convex, at the top of the bud some rotting bands are attached. Small sculptures like this are found in Sepik and Ramu. In Murik and Sepik they are clan possessions and represent mythical ancestors
