sculpture
- Description:
- Physical description: Sculpture, showing a man standing on a circular pedestal, carved from a single tree. The figure is nude, except for the lumbar coat made of dark brown vegetable fiber, with fringes only on the front side. The hands are palms on the sides against the thighs and the feet are slightly hooked. The dark brown surface has red brown patches in place. The character seems to have a mask on his face, at least the face is unnaturally flat and long. They are carved with grooves on the forehead and crescent-shaped bumps on the hairline and edges. Eye recesses have caterpillars. The coloring is the same as elsewhere in the sculpture. The hair on the character is punched with a pair of cranial bladders in one row on the main flank. There are knotted bunches around both wrists and ankles.
