- Species of rare paradise bird spread in Papua New Guinea and northern Australia. The population of this species is stable in nature, but permanently threatened by deforestation. It is contained on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and in CITES Annex II. Antonie Augustus Bruijn (December 27, 1842 - August 11, 1890) was a Dutch Navy officer, naturalist and natural history merchant from the Dutch East Indies. The copy is part of the old collection, purchased by Grigore Antipa from 1898-1907.
