3 1 8 1924.6 1924.6 256 Comb. Of wood, 7 teeth, round at the top. Has cut, four triangles with the tips facing each other, forming a Maltese cross. Posted with mother-of-pearl, which has disappeared, in 2 triangles. Wooden combs, both transverse (Edge Partington I, 337 All and 2) and round (Ibid. no. 4) can be found on the islands of Torres Sund. Length: 14.5 cm. Width: 595 cm. Nukant = Eliica Islands Oceania 257 Ash of wood. Small. On four round legs, slightly conical upwards, with lid. This loc is with a string, (running on the side of the vessel, d _ els at the top of the lid), attached to the vessel. A wooden vessel of much the same type/firm without feet, is Edge Pårtina- ton III, 49 nr 15, Ellice Islands, “for holding small träon a canoe Ett.” They are called tourouma. Dyalian vessels are also present on Samoa, See Ibid. II. 44 No. 8, “a commission tubto be under the canoe in the water.” Height 16.5 cm. Diameter: top 8 cm. N61 ~ ~ ~, Ellice Islands Oceania [ocr]
