Description:
Before the man altered his distribution, the area of the pheasant stretched from Asia Minor to East China and Korea. In the United States it was introduced before 1790. A lot of the same species, but with a white neck, from China and Mongolia, was introduced around 1857. It was successfully introduced in New Zealand, in Hawaii, Samoa, etc. Including in Romania, where it is appreciated by hunters.
