- Solitary choral, lives in the west of the Indian Ocean (786-805 m), Indonesia (535-794 m), Japan (119-522m). New Caledonia, Australia 296-2450 m, Tanzania, Madagascar, Sulu Sea, Celebes Sea, Tonga and Samoa (535-1270 m); Philippines, Vanuatu (900 m) and in Brazil. It is a free coral, usually curved at 90 degrees. It can measure up to 1.5 cm high. The specimens of juveniles are completely white, the theca of adults can have two distinct colors: white to the calicular limit and faded in the pedicel region.
