- Description:
- Ato. Bag. Made by Sela Pulu. This ato (bag) is woven from young launiu (coconut leaf; the strips are very thin and are cream in colour. The ato itself is oblong in shape and has a flap closure with cowrie shell toggles. The handle is made from launiu and the strips are plaited into tupe laufā (4 ply plait). This ato could have been used as an ato hamufua (church bag) or as an every day bag for women.
