Description:
Vaka Tokelau. Canoe. This is a vaka Tokelau made of taiuli (evergreen wood). The takele (hull) is made of three curved pieces of wood that have been lashed together using kafa (sennit). The wood is a dark brown colour and has a smooth unpolished surface. Attached to the top edge of the stern and prow are covers, also lashed using kafa.
