Tafi kāniu
- Description:
- Tafi kāniu fili aki. A broom made from long segments of dried kāniu (coconut midrib) bundled together to create a hand held implement used in domestic house keeping. The kāniu are a natural brown colour. At the grip end of the tafi kāniu, the kāniu have been bent in a U shape and wrapped in thick cotton twine to create a handle. A length of suspension fibre has been attached to the tafi kāniu at this point.
