Review of Cetacean Diversity Status and Threats in the Pacific Island Region

Description:
This report brings together information on the status of and threats to whales and dolphins in the Pacific Islands region. The report provides insight on the current level of knowledge on species populations and specific threats to these populations and makes recommendations for improving this knowledge and thus inform robust management and conservation measures. The review was undertaken by SPREP, through the By-catch and Integrated Ecosystem Management (BIEM) Initiative of the Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) Programme funded by the European Union and the Government of Sweden.
