UPPER: A view of part of the crowd of 28,000 people which gathered on the banks of the Waikato River last Saturday at the 42nd meeting of the Ngaruawahia Regatta Association. Exciting aquatic events, Maori dances and hakas and side-shows provided varied and colourful entertainment for the spectators. It was a carnival occasion.
