The coloured labour problem in the south seas: Indian workers on some of the plantations in Fiji
- Description:
- A montage of images of indentured Indian workers in Fiji. For many years the problem of the provision of adequate labour in Fiji was solved by the use of indentured labourers from India. These images were taken at a time when no further indentured workers were arriving in Fiji. Workers are shown in their settlements, riding horses, working on a rubber plantation, and with a cart of sugar cane and a supervisor on a sugar plantation. Horses and cattle are also included in some of the images.
