Reru. Pounder. made of toka taatai (coral ). Used for pounding ingredients for producing dyes or medicines. Flared base (diameter of base almost equal to height of pounder). Rounded pounding surface. Top of pounder consists of two lateral rounded projections, which slant upwards and outwards. Top of pounder has been termed as bifurcated or forked. Conical in overall shape. Overall good condition.
