Description:
Fred Abernethy, chief engineer of the "Holmwood" tells the story of the ship being intercepted by German raiders on 25 November 1940. He tells of being a prisoner of the Germans and eventually being put ashore near New Guinea where 496 prisoners were rescued by an Australian vessel.
