- Kete. Bag. Used for carrying personal items. Large, flat, rectangular shape. Made from rauara (pandanus leaf) woven in check. Commencement at base. Bottom of the kete is closed off by machine sewing. The rim is finished in patara (serrated edge). Natural colour, with dyed-red/brown overlaid strips of apuraka (stalk of the giant swamp taro) along the upper boundary as akamanea (decorative) band running along its length.
