- Te kaneati. Bonito lure of pearl shells. This is made up of five components: te baeao (pearl shell), te ira n atu (human hair), te benu (coconut fibre), iron metal and feather. The shank is of a lustre colour, shaped and smoothed into a tubular form, possibly using an atitai (hard coral stone). One end is tapered with a perforation bored near it.
