'Ula sisi

Description:
'Ula sisi. Neck ornament. 'Ula is a type of Samoan adornment, worn around the neck. It is worn on special occasions, as part of a dance attire and offered as gifts to family, friends and visitors. This is made up of sisi (shell), disc coral and string. The sisi are yellow in colour and are perforated at the lip to be strung on a brown string. The 'ula has intervals of small coral discs which are off-white in colour.
