Tagava'e

Description:
Tagava'e. Sandals. Tagava'e are used to wear whilst climbing coconut trees for better grip and for protection of the feet. They are also worn as reef sandals when on the reef for the protection of the feet against the sharp rocks and coral. This pair of tagava'e are woven from thick strips of processed fau (hibiscus) fibre. It is woven into a thick rectangular shape with a loop at the front and two strips on the back end to secure to the foot.
