- Description:
- Waqa Ukuuku. Model outrigger canoe. This Waqa ukuuku is constructed with wood (kau). The model consists of a single hull with square cover, three strats extending out to an outrigger. All these components lashed together with magimagi (coconut sennit). Three small i voce ukuuku (model canoe paddles) accompany the waqa ukuuku. Each are brown in colour with leaf-shaped blades and long cylindrical shafts ending in a pointed tip at grip end.
