Report of a New Zealand, Australian, and Papua New Guinea Scientific Mission to Mururoa Atoll

Description:
For over twenty-five years there has been interest in monitoring environmental radioactivity from nuclear weapons tests. Measurements have been made in Australia since 1957 by the Australian Radiation Laboratory, British and United States networks have included Pacific monitoring stations and the New Zealand National Radiation Laboratory has maintained an extensive monitoring network over New Zealand and the South Pacific. Through the 1960s British, US and Soviet tests were monitored. The emphasis has been radionuclides of health interest and the results have been published internationally.
