Caring for the Earth

Description:
The World Conservation Union (IUCN), the United Nations Environment Programme, (UNEP), and the World Wide Fund for Nature, (WWF), united their efforts in the hope of establishing a global alliance to protect the earth. The 2nd World Conservation Strategy in October 1991 with the central theme "Caring for the Earth", was carried out in 60 countries. More than 100 action plans were proposed where first world countries were urged to reduce the production of gas emissions, oil and waste production, and so forth. It is hoped that a global approach to solving existing problems should bring about much needed protection and caring for the environment.
