Climate Change, Coming Soon to a Court Near You: National Climate Change Legal Frameworks in Asia and the Pacific

Description:
It is 2020 and the world is at a crossroads on climate change. The Paris Agreement aims to limit global warming to 1.5ºC–2ºC above preindustrial temperatures. Current international climate responses will not meet these targets. Thus, urgent and widespread action is indispensable. Recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports showed a significant difference in the degree of impact between 1.5ºC and 2ºC of warming. Indeed, the 1.5ºC goal is the safest for most of Asia and the Pacific.
