Guadalcanal Island, Lunga Point. Typed on envelope "Sting-ray caught in the surrounding net by the crewmembers of the LST 553. One of the Hawaiians is removing the tail to save, and then the fish is thrown back in the water, for the Hawaiians believe that if the fish is killed, the tail that has been cut off will die.
