The late Mr. Kasiano Santos (chiefly title: Soulik en Mwakot, Nahnpei Kitti) sings the Song of Sorrow for Henry Nanpei, Pohnpei. Nanpei (1862-1927) was a Protestant church leader and the wealthy in the early colonial period in Pohnpei. This Song of Sorrow (called kedepwidepw) was made by the Pohnpeians upon his death in 1927 to remember him. Aroma is the name of a Nanpei's ship, which was 17 ton, with a 25 horsepower engine in 1937 according to a Japanese military intelligence report on Pohnp...
