Small round coconut leaf basket
- Description:
- The commencement at the rim is from two segments of a coconut frond split longitudinally along the stem. These are laid over eachother during the making and initially they're plaited flat, then rims made into a circle and brought together to create a rounded basket. The work is narrowed at the bottom by doubling the strips before taking them into a 'patch' finish surrounded by four rounds of rolled braid. Made by Joyce Bamo.
