Bainimarama tightens grip over Fiji

- In Fiji, coup leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama appears to be strengthening his grip on power. Not only has the man in charge of the purse strings now handed himself in to the military, but the army may soon be in a position to install a interim government. This is happening against a backdrop of the military's intimidation of former government ministers and pro-democracy supporters. This is happening as the trial of the former military coup leader Sitiveni Rabuka concludes in Suva.
