Returning asylum seekers unconscionable, says Burnside

Description:
Despite suggestions that the 83 Sri Lankan asylum seekers now on Christmas Island would be sent to Indonesia and then back home to Sri Lanka, the Federal Government says it's yet to decide what it will do with the young men. But the editor of a Sri Lankan newspaper based in Melbourne says if they are sent back to Sri Lanka, they're likely to spend the rest of their lives in jail. And a barrister with experience in immigration matters says if the Government were to send them to Indonesia, that would be unconscionable.
