Asylum expert calls for children to be freed from Manus Island

- One of the architects of the Federal Government's asylum policy is demanding children be freed from detention on Manus Island immediately. Paris Aristotle was part of the expert panel that recommended the Government put in place the hardline policy to send asylum seekers offshore. In the past Mr Aristotle has justified it as neccessary to deter asylum seekers from risking their lives at sea. But now, he's speaking out. He says the policy was never meant to lead to the arbitrary imprisonment of children on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island.
