Gillard highlights gender at Pacific Forum

The Prime Minister Julia Gillard has received a rapturous reception from Cook Islanders after she arrived to take part in the Pacific Islands Forum. Ms Gillard moved quickly to put her stamp on the gathering - pointing out that she was the only female leader in the group and promising a new initiative to promote equality between men and women in the region. She's also dismissed suggestions that she's at odds with Nauru about how to run the planned processing centre for asylum seekers.
