Raphael West Cilento graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide inNovember 1918. This is an account of his professional activities and achievements from then until he left Australia in May 1945 to serve with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.With the exception of a year spent in private practice in Adelaide between November 1919 and October 1920 Cilento was engaged in a variety of aspects of tropical medicine and/or public health during the period of this study.
