Earthquake ^ Tsunami - Pago Pago, American Samoa, October 5, 2009 -- Captain Michael Bryce, U. S. Public Health Service, directs an emergency vehicle toward a Coast Guard plane. An infant was required to be evacuated from American Samoa to Hawaii due to the earthquake and tsunami. DMATs are part of the U. S. Hawaii suggested inclusive itineraries

At the end of the line, a USN P-3 Orion aircraft, Patrol Squadron 9 (VP-9), Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. The aircraft are on station to participate in the joint exercise TANDEM THRUST 03, a joint US, Canada, and Australia exercise conducted in the Marianas islands to include Guam and Tinian

Marines from 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Division India Company, practice and perfect a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personal (TRAP) during Exercise KOA THUNDER 2001. KOA THUNDER is an exercise involving elements of 1ST Marine Air Wing (MAW), and 3rd Marine Division, where Marines conduct an Operational Readiness Exercise (ORE). The Aviation Support Element (ASE) from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, will be tested on command and control of several different missions, to include a TRAP, airfield seizures, and a Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO)

SRA Eric Ruiter, a security policeman from Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii demonstrates a little American culture for Kurdish children with some "low fives." The children, airlifted from Turkey, were part of Operation Pacific Haven, a U.S. State Department-directed action aimed at evacuating Kurds and other Iraqi opposition groups from the Middle East country's turmoil.
